Device Compliance
Above all, certified passenger ropeway and conveyor (ski lift) mechanics are responsible for full compliance of elevating devices in accordance with:
All applicable Director's Orders
All applicable advisories, bulletins, and guidelines
Incident Reporting
An “incident” is defined as a consequence to a person or property.
Incident reporting is required by law
Refer to Director’s Guideline #ED-214/09
Promptly report all incidents, accidents, and hazardous conditions to the Technical Standards and Safety Authority (TSSA)
Other Responsibilities
As a certified passenger ropeway and conveyor (ski lift) mechanic, you are required to:
Stay current with all licensing requirements, Code Adoption Document amendments, compliance standards, required maintenance schedules and manufacturer’s bulletins for passenger ropeways and conveyors
Renew your certificate every year.
Report any changes to your certificate information to TSSA within 30 days.
