Change of Ownership

TSSA regulated operators can transfer the ownership of a licensed facility to an entity, corporation or individual. Licenses are not transferable and the onus to apply for a new license will fall on the new owner.  

Owners of multiple devices within our regulated industries are required to submit all of the applicable change of ownership forms. 

Fuels

If the ownership has changed, please submit the applicable application form(s) below:

Please go to the TSSA Client Portal to complete and submit the following applications: 

  • Application for an Ontario Licence to Operate a Propane Container Refill Centre or a Filling Plant - Change of Licence Holder

  • Application for an Ontario Licence to Operate Propane Cylinder Exchange - Change of Licence Holder 

  • Application for an Ontario Licence to Transport Fuel (pdf)

  • Application for a Change of Licence Holder for a Retail Outlet or a Bulk Storage Plant

Boilers and Pressure Vessels

If you are submitting a request to change the ownership to operate any pressure-retaining component within the province of Ontario, you will be required to submit one of the following application forms with your submission: 

Operating Engineers

In the event of a change of ownership of a registered plant, the new owner will need to re-register the plant. Please fill out the Application for Certificate of Registration of a Plant

Elevating Devices and Ski-Lifts

Please go to the TSSA Client Portal to complete and submit the below application: 

  • Application for an Elevating Device Licence Ownership/Licensee Change

Amusement Devices 

If you are submitting a request to change the ownership to operate, own, or manage a device within the province of Ontario, please go to the TSSA Client Portal to submit the completed Declaration of Amusement Device Change Ownership which must be submitted with the application request on the TSSA Client Portal.
